A Comparative Study Of Lifestyle ,Stress And Prevalence Of Hypertension And Obesity In Rural And Urban Adult Population Of Dadri.
Abstract
Lifestyle changes and increasing psychosocial stress are major contributors to the rising burden of non communicable diseases such as hypertension and obesity. Differences in living conditions, occupational patterns, dietary habits and stress exposure between rural and urban populations can significantly influence health outcomes. Understanding these variations is essential for identifying population specific risk factors and developing effective preventive strategies. The present study aims to compare lifestyle patterns, perceived stress and the prevalence of hypertension and obesity among rural and urban adult populations of Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. A comparative cross-sectional study will be conducted among adults residing in selected rural and urban areas of Dadri. Information related to demographic characteristics and lifestyle factors, including dietary habits, physical activity, sleep patterns and substance use will be collected using a structured survey approach. The study will compare lifestyle characteristics and stress levels between rural and urban groups and examine their association with the prevalence of hypertension and obesity. Statistical analysis will be used to identify significant differences and relationships among the variables. The findings of this study are expected to provide insight into how lifestyle and stress related factors differ between rural and urban adult populations and how these differences may contribute to the burden of hypertension and obesity. This research may contribute to population level understanding of lifestyle-related health risks and support the development of targeted health education and preventive interventions.
