Bio Physical Effects Of Music Therapy On Examination Stress In College
Abstract
Examination stress is very common among college students and affects both their body and mind. Due to heavy syllabus, competition, and pressure to perform well, students often experience problems such as fast heartbeat, high blood pressure, anxiety, poor sleep, and lack of concentration. These problems reduce their ability to study effectively and harm their overall health. Music therapy is a simple, natural, and safe method that can help reduce stress. Listening to calm and soothing music helps the body relax by slowing the heart rate, lowering blood pressure, relaxing muscles, and reducing stress hormones. Music also improves mood, emotional balance, and mental clarity. This study aims to understand the biophysical effects of music therapy on examination stress in college students. The study includes college students aged 18 to 29 years. A questionnaire-based survey method will be used to measure stress levels and physical changes such as heart rate and blood pressure before and after listening to music. Music therapy will be given as a stress-relief activity, and the collected data will be analyzed to observe changes in the body and mind. The expected results suggest that music therapy will help students feel calmer, more relaxed, and less anxious during exams. It may also improve concentration and emotional well-being. This study highlights music therapy as an easy, low-cost, and effective method to manage examination stress. The findings may help students and educational institutions adopt music therapy to support mental health and improve academic performance.
