Effect of Coracohumeral Ligament Stretching on Pain, Performance and External Rotation of Shoulder in Patient`s with Adhesive Capsulitis Patients
Abstract
Background and Objectives: The paper aims at to evaluate the efficacy of CHL-specific stretching combined with conventional physiotherapy versus conventional physiotherapy alone in improving range of motion, pain, and functional disability in patients diagnose with adhesive capsulitis. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted on 14 participants clinically diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis. Participants were randomly assigned to Group A (n=7; CHL stretching + conventional physiotherapy) or Group B (n=7; conventional physiotherapy alone). Results: The intervention lasted 6 weeks, comprising two supervised session per week and daily home exercises. Outcomes assessed at baseline, Week 6, and Month 3 included external rotation ROM (digital inclinometer), pain intensity (Visual Analogue Scale, VAS), and functional disability (Shoulder Pain and Disability Index, SPADI). Interpretation and Conclusion: Analyses included mean changes, minimal clinically important difference (MCID) responders, remission thresholds, and effect sizes. Although the result shows that CHL stretching was more satisfactory and effective.
