Abstract
This article is dedicated to the problems related to crisis management at the national level in Bulgaria in the context of the processes related to European integration. At the beginning, the topicality of the topic is stated, the framework of the presentation is defined and the process of searching for a comparative analysis by Bulgarian specialists in relation to the development of countries such as Austria, the Czech Republic and others is framed. Specific features of the term risk are derived, which is imposed as a connecting link between the territory and the population in it. Management processes are related to society and certain theoretical approaches are examined. The appropriate conclusions and recommendations are made for improving the crisis management processes in municipalities and regions in Bulgaria. Several examples are also provided to reinforce the author's main thesis that crisis management is becoming an increasingly relevant and timely topic, one that will concern the entire modern society due to the new global realities and climate change.
