Volitional Personality Change in Adolescence
Abstract
This study is the first to explore volitional personality change in adolescence by examining adolescents' desire for personality change and their ability to achieve intended personality changes through an intervention that was specifically focused on the change of the three social personality traits Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Emotional Stability. Furthermore, to get a deeper understanding of the mechanism that drive volitional personality change, we will examine the role of adolescents’ motivation to change as a potential moderator of intentional personality change in adolescence.
