Abstract

This OSF project hosts the replication materials for our paper, Estimating the Impact of High-Frequency Public Transit on Employment Outcomes in Chicago Neighborhoods, which studies the August 2019 launch of Pace’s Pulse Milwaukee Line and its effects on neighborhood labor-market outcomes in the Chicago region. Using a tract-year panel built from public data, we implement a transparent difference-in-differences and event-study design comparing census tracts within 0.5 miles of new Pulse stops to a 0.5–2 mile control ring before and after the service upgrade. The repository includes code and documentation to construct the dataset from Pace GTFS schedules, ACS 5-year estimates, LEHD/LODES employment data, and TIGER/Line geographic files, and to reproduce the main results, robustness checks, tables, and figures
