Abstract

This project investigates the role of cybersecurity training in strengthening healthcare organizations against cyber threats by addressing human-factor vulnerabilities. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected via structured questionnaires administered to healthcare professionals across multiple healthcare facilities in Hawaii. The study evaluates cybersecurity awareness levels, identifies priority training topics, compares training methodologies, and examines the influence of organizational culture and leadership on cybersecurity behavior. Findings highlight significant training gaps and demonstrate that interactive, hands-on training approaches improve threat recognition, compliance, and post-training security practices. The project contributes empirical evidence supporting the development of targeted cybersecurity training programs aimed at building a sustainable human firewall within healthcare environments.
