Bases para una relectura con perspectiva de género de la Menorca Talayótica
Abstract
The declaration of Talayotic Menorca as a World Heritage Site in 2023 is a milestone for archaeology and heritage management on the island, but also an opportunity to critically review the discourses that underpin it. This work proposes a different reading of the candidacy and its social impact from a feminist archaeology and gender perspective. Based on a theoretical contextualization and a collection of data that form the scientific background for this new proposal, the candidacy file is analyzed here. The identification of an androcentric discourse focused on monumentality and technique, which leaves out social diversity and everyday practices, opens the door to rethinking Talayotic Menorca from a more inclusive perspective that reinforces its social and educational value as a shared and plural heritage.
