Abstract

This scoping review synthesizes evidence from 2020 to 2024 regarding the impact of online marketing for tobacco and non-therapeutic nicotine products on public perceptions and behaviors. Guided by PRISMA-ScR and the Social-Ecological Model, the study maps existing literature to identify research gaps and inform future policy. *The revised protocol file was uploaded in January 2026. Changes in the uploaded file include refinement of the study title and objectives to explicitly include non-therapeutic nicotine products, clarification of the search strategy and data extraction procedures, and the inclusion of preliminary search results following the completion of the literature search.
