Die Macht der Algorithmen: Künstliche Intelligenz und öffentliche Meinungsbildung in Krisenzeiten
Abstract
This dissertation examines how AI image captioning systems, social media moderation, and prompting, shape representations of social groups during political tension. Across three studies, it shows how captions can erase identities, how prompting mitigates harms in journalism, and how platform policies govern debates. Using the Social Construction of Technology framework, it argues that representational harm is not a technical flaw but a political outcome of contested visibility.
