Abstract

Compared to the hard-switching two-level inverter, the auxiliary resonant commutated pole inverter achieves a reduction in switching losses while simultaneously offering beneficial electromagnetic compatibility. In this work, the topology is examined with regard to its suitability for small resonant circuits. Relevant hardware effects are analyzed and methods for adaptive control are discussed, which maintain the topological advantages with small additional hardware and software costs.
