Prevenzione e protezione passiva: l’evoluzione dei sistemi Makros perla sicurezza archivistica e culturale
Abstract
This paper examines the new frontiers of passive protection for the safeguarding of archival and artistic heritage, emphasizing the concept of "preventive maintenance" applied to cultural assets. By analyzing the patented solutions developed by Makros, the article illustrates how the integration of advanced informatics and materials engineering allows for overcoming the limitations of traditional fire suppression systems, whichare often invasive for historical documents. The Blockfire (thermal and fire defense) and Blockbacteria (aerobiological control) technologies are explored in detail, highlighting the significance of IoT sensor networks and immersive reality in risk management. The case study demonstrates how a modular, sustainable approach based on remote monitoring protocols can guarantee the integrity of collective memory, protecting archives, books, and artworksfrom both environmental deterioration and emergencies.
