Abstract

We use a one-group pretest-posttest design to test the effectiveness of the Detach app in reducing screen time and perceived stress and increasing life satisfaction and well-being. The study period covers approximately two weeks with three measurement points (T1 = before using the app, T2 = 1 week after starting to use the app, T3 = 2 weeks after starting to use the app), during which the effectiveness of the app will be tested. The Detach app is designed for digital self-regulation and for reducing smartphone and social media usage time. The app is designed to help users become more conscious of their media consumption and integrate digital breaks into their everyday lives.
