Abstract

In this study, we re-analyzed data of two previous studies examining masked evaluative response priming and masked semantic priming (Kiefer et al., 2023; Wentura et al., 2024). Using effect course analysis, we tracked whether PAS-ratings (PAS = Perceptual Awareness Scale) indicating trial-wise subjective awareness change during the experiment, and whether such changes in subjective awareness are accompanied by corresponding changes in masked priming. Moreover, by tracing the course of priming effects in samples omitting PAS-ratings, we investigated whether the application of PAS-ratings generally change the dynamics of priming.
