Abstract

Transmedia, Audiovisual Culture, and Sonic Narratives explores the role of sound and music in contemporary audiovisual storytelling across film, television series, and transmedia environments. The project examines how sonic elements contribute to narrative construction, aesthetic meaning, and emotional orientation in visual media, with particular attention to serial formats, cinematic sound design, and the circulation of musical motifs across platforms. Drawing on case studies such as television series, film, and everyday mediated spaces, the research combines perspectives from audiovisual analysis, sound studies, and cultural sociology to investigate how music and sound operate as semiotic resources within transmedia narratives. By focusing on cultural and aesthetic dimensions rather than explicitly political functions, the project provides a framework for understanding sonic narration as a key component of contemporary audiovisual culture.
