Factors influencing PrEP-HIV discontinuation: a scoping review
Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To map scientific publications that investigate the factors contributing to the discontinuation of PrEP use for HIV in healthcare services in Brazil and other countries. REVIEW METHODS: The scoping review protocol will be followed according to the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Methodology for JBI Scoping Review. The reporting of this review will follow the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines. Data collection will occur in the following databases in a detailed and individual manner: Medline/PubMed; LILACS; Web of Science; EMBASE; CINAHL; BDENF via the Virtual Health Library; CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog; Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations; and Google Scholar. Finally, the reference list of each included material and article will be analyzed in search of complementary studies, provided they answer the research question. The selection will be carried out independently by two researchers using the Mendeley® software, with a third researcher acting as mediator to resolve any inconsistencies.
