Gaze Strategies in Virtual Idol Livestreams: Effects on Social Presence, Trust, and Online Interaction
Abstract
This study investigates how gaze intensity and gaze dynamics in virtual idol livestreams influence online interaction intention, with social presence and trust as mediators. Using a 3 × 3 experimental design and data from 398 participants, MANOVA and PLS-SEM analyses show that gaze intensity enhances perceived gaze awareness, social presence, and trust, while high gaze dynamics weaken trust and interaction intention.
