Yüksek Deformasyon Hızlarında AA6061-T6 Alüminyum Alaşımının Karakterizasyonu ve Modellenmesi
Abstract
This study investigates the high strain rate mechanical behavior of AA6061-T6 aluminum alloy. To characterize the strain-rate-dependent response, a series of Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) experiments is conducted under dynamic tensile and compressive loading conditions. The experimental data are analyzed to quantify the material’s rate sensitivity and to evaluate the differences in mechanical response between tension and compression. Additionally, parameters of three widely used constitutive models are identified based on the experimental results. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies of the SHPB experiments and verification tests are performed using the LS-DYNA® hydrocode with explicit time integration, employing constitutive formulations capable of capturing rate-dependent plasticity. Material model parameters are calibrated through a combination of curve-fitting and inverse modeling approaches. The results highlight the importance of incorporating strain rate effects into constitutive models to achieve accurate predictions of the nonlinear dynamic response of AA6061-T6 under high strain rate tensile and compressive loading.
