Lived experiences and perceptions of remission among individuals diagnosed with severe asthma: Protocol for a qualitative evidence synthesis
Abstract
This review is a qualitative evidence synthesis examining how patients diagnosed with severe asthma experience or perceive asthma remission or control. With recent advances in asthma management, including the use of biologics, achieving remission has become a key treatment goal. However, although patient perspectives are included in the clinical definition of remission, these experiences have not yet been systematically studied or documented. This review will synthesize qualitative and mixed-methods studies that capture patient and caregiver experiences to inform the development of a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) for patients diagnosed with severe asthma.
