Achieving optimal grip: Designing flexible and sensitive robotic fingers
Abstract
This resource explores the design of flexible, sensitive soft robotic fingers capable of optimal grip for delicate tasks in healthcare and elderly care. It explains challenges of integrating rigid sensors into soft grippers, introduces multi-material 3D printing to embed self-powered piezoelectric sensing, and details reinforced inflation chambers and vacuum jamming for tunable stiffness. Activities include reading comprehension, pronunciation practice, sentence completion, speaking prompts, videos, and quizzes to reinforce understanding and application.
