Abstract

his project documents direct, field-based geomorphological and elevation observations from the Pipikoro Highlands of Central Sulawesi, located within the globally significant Wallacea biogeographic region. The work focuses on highland landforms and elevation-linked microenvironments that are particularly sensitive to climate variability and land-use pressure. Beyond documentation, this project is designed as an action-oriented field initiative. Elevation and geomorphological data are collected and translated into practical tools for local understanding, including printed terrain maps, basic field measurements, and on-site visual markers that support conservation awareness at the community level. The project emphasizes local participation and immediate, physical outcomes rather than abstract modeling or purely academic outputs. All records remain grounded in direct field observation and are preserved transparently to support future conservation planning, climate impact assessment, and community-based environmental decision-making in one of Indonesia’s least-documented highland regions.
