Abstract

This protocol outlines a multilingual scoping review and computational analysis of academic literature on gender and education published between 1990 and 2025. The review aims to systematically map scholarly discourse on gender, women, girls, sexuality, and feminism in education, with particular attention to linguistic and national contexts in Belgium and Brazil. Following PRISMA-ScR guidance and the SALSA framework, the review employs transparent and reproducible search strategies across major academic databases in English, French, Dutch, and Portuguese. Rather than synthesizing study outcomes, the review focuses on identifying thematic patterns and discursive shifts through computational text-analysis methods, including co-occurrence networks and longitudinal analysis based on Bourdieu's field theory. By combining scoping review methodology with corpus-based approaches, this study contributes to a systematic understanding of how gender and education have been conceptualized in academic scholarship over time.
