Abstract

Report on the ICARDA-DGF training on carob tree propagation highlights initiatives to improve the production of high-quality female seedlings in Tunisia. Carob trees are valuable for their ecological benefits and economic potential but face challenges due to inconsistent propagation methods. The training program, which involved 30 participants comprising forestry engineers and nursery technicians, emphasized effective vegetative propagation techniques and operational efficiency. By enhancing skills and standardizing procedures, this initiative aims to increase nursery productivity, support reforestation efforts, and strengthen rural livelihoods while contributing to climate resilience.
