Long⁃term care insurance pilot program in Xuzhou: current status, issues and reflections

Based on the practical experience of Xuzhou city in coverage scope,financing mechanisms,disability assessment,and benefit models,this study conducted an in⁃depth analysis of current challenges,including single financing channels, insufficient coverage for dementia patients,and weak supervision of designated institutions.To enhance the sustainability of long⁃term care insurance,recommendations were proposed:strengthening the assessment mechanism for disability and dementia while expanding coverage scope; optimizing financing policies to establish a diversified funding model; improving the supervision system to enhance service quality in designated institutions;and intensifying policy promotion to increase public participation.These measures aimed to provide practical references for other regions.
