Dataset for Impact of dynamic downscaling on the simulation of Tropical Easterly Waves in the Intra-Americas Seas
Abstract
This project explores the impacts that dynamically downscaling a coarse global reanalysis dataset (NCEP-R2) have on the simulation of tropical easterly waves in a regional climate model over the Intra-Americas Seas. Two different cumulus parameterizations (Relaxed Arakawa-Schubert and Kain-Fritsch version 2) were also utilized in the regional model to analyze the sensitivity of convection on tropical easterly wave generation.
