The Role of Action in Perception within Cognitive Science: A Systematic Review
Abstract
There is no widely accepted consensus in the Cognitive Sciences regarding the specific contribution of action for perceptual performance. In this systematic review, we aim to clarify whether active perception is more accurate than passive perception and whether those cases in which authors claim that passive perception is more accurate or equally accurate than active perception are due to specific features related to the task and/or the experiment.
