Abstract

Advance Choice Documents for people with Eating Disorders (ACDED) aims to evaluate the use of Advance Choice Documents (ACDs) for service users under the care of the Eating Disorder Service within the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). ACDs are designed to help individuals who have previously been detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA) outline how they wish to be treated during future mental health crises. There is a lack of existing research regarding ACDs for people with eating disorders. This qualitative project will explore the specific needs of service users with eating disorders, and use these findings to create an ACD implementation resource which will then be tested with a cohort of service users.
