Abstract

Older patients are highly susceptible to functional decline during hospitalization, which is associated with increased hospital lengths of stay, disability, and mortality. Interventions that target functional decline are heterogeneous and there is a need for a comprehensive mapping of nurse-led interventions that have been developed, applied, or evaluated in hospital settings. This scoping review aims to identify and map nurse-led interventions that have been developed, applied, or evaluated to target functional decline in older hospitalized patients.
