Abstract

Computational Substrate Hegemony (CSH) is a theoretical framework for identity-preserving cognitive systems across biological, synthetic, and computational substrates. Identity is defined as a dynamical invariant under transformations that preserve causal dynamics, structure, behavior, and homeostasis. The framework formalizes safe subsystem interactions, knowledge transfer, and emergent learning while maintaining continuity and agency. CSH bridges neuroscience, physics, computer science, and philosophy, providing a substrate-agnostic foundation for the study and design of coherent, adaptive intelligent systems.
