Somatic & Physical Literacy™: Foundational Papers
Abstract
Note on Series Structure and Non-Redundancy: The papers associated with Somatic & Physical Literacy™ (SPL) are organized as a multi-paper descriptive research program distributed across several OSF projects. While these papers share a common descriptive stance (RC Posture™) and a commitment to appearance-before-interpretation, they do not duplicate arguments or objects of analysis. Across projects, the SPL papers are intentionally differentiated by analytic function. Distinct papers address, at different levels of abstraction: ontological conditions under which appearance can register, methodological posture governing descriptive restraint, foundational descriptive objects (such as the appearance layer of expression), lexical clarification of specific phenomena, and environmental, civic, or computational conditions shaping how appearance shows itself. Shared vocabulary reflects a consistent descriptive posture rather than redundancy of content. Each paper isolates a different descriptive question—what appears, how it is registered, what must already be in place for appearance to occur, how particular phenomena are named within SPL, or how environments condition appearance—without repeating prior analyses. This layered distribution of papers follows established norms in theoretical and phenomenological research, where conceptual precision is preserved by separating ontological, methodological, descriptive, and contextual clarifications across multiple focused texts rather than compressing them into a single, interpretively overloaded work.
