Abstract

Introduction: One of the therapies within Traditional Complementary Integrative Medicine that has been used over time to treat multiple conditions is narrative therapy. Objective: To analyze the use of narrative therapies to achieve the holistic well-being of individuals. Method: This research analyzes, through a bibliometric study in Scopus (2020-2025), the scientific production of narrative therapies for holistic well-being (n=3,490). Indicators of production, visibility, collaboration, and content were analyzed, in addition to an analysis of thematic polarization. Results: The structure of scientific production reveals a high level of maturity and collaboration. Methodologically, the discipline relies on systematic reviews (19.57%) and controlled studies (16.50%), indicating an effort to provide scientific rigor to a traditionally qualitative intervention. The term co-occurrence map reveals an organized structure in well-defined thematic clusters revolving around the central node of narrative therapy. Therapy is linked to psychotherapy, the treatment of depression, and developmental disorders such as autism. It is also found in palliative care, highlighting its importance in end-of-life support. Conclusions: It is concluded that narrative therapies have reached a level of scientific maturity that allows for their formal integration into modern health systems. Their exponential growth not only validates their effectiveness in treating chronic conditions and mental health but also positions them as a necessary innovation for preventive well-being.
