Circulating High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein Levels in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
Abstract
Rationale: PCOS is a common endocrine disorder linked to low-grade chronic inflammation. While hs-CRP is a known marker, its independence from obesity remains debated. An update is needed to include the significant volume of research published in the last decade (2015–2025). Objective: To synthesize and meta-analyze the mean difference in hs-CRP levels between women with PCOS and healthy controls.
