Gravity as a Local Suppression of Universal Expansion

Abstract

This model offers a conceptual reinterpretation of gravity and cosmic expansion that remains consistent with general relativity’s empirical predictions while proposing a different underlying physical mechanism. Whereas GR attributes the non expansion of bound systems to curvature and gravitational binding, this framework interprets the same phenomena as local suppression of spacetime’s natural expansion. This reinterpretation does not contradict GR mathematically; it reframes its physical meaning. To become a full alternative theory, the model would require explicit field equations capable of reproducing GR’s quantitative predictions. Until such equations are developed, it should be regarded as a conceptual framework rather than a replacement for general relativity.”
