Hur kan Gud vara omnisubjektiv? : En kritisk granskning av empatimodellen
Abstract
This essay presents Linda Zagzebski’s model of total empathy as an account of how God can be omnisubjective. Omnisubjectivity is the divine attribute of knowing what it is like to experience every subjective state. According to the empathy model, God acquires such knowledge by perfectly empathizing with every subject and their subjective states. The model is threatened by the Moral Objection and the Holiness Objection which question whether empathizing with certain subjective states is compatible with divine moral perfection. I critically examine T.J. Mawson’s response to these objections and considers some implications of this way of responding to them.
