Extrazelluläre Vesikel aus Adipozyten in metabolische Erkrankungen: Regulatoren der Insulinsekretion mit diagnostischem Potenzial
Abstract
Adipose tissue plays a crucial role in endocrine signaling by releasing not only adipocytokines but also extracellular vesicles (AdEVs). While previous research has mainly focused on the miRNAs contained in AdEVs, our study reveals that AdEVs function as signaling entities that can amplify insulin secretion in pancreatic β-cells through the transport of an insulinotropic protein cargo. Additionally, AdEVs are a rich source of unique adipocyte-specific cargo, making them valuable for liquid biopsies. To this end, an antibody-based technique for isolating AdEVs was established and further applied in human blood samples, enabling the analysis of their composition and utility for future diagnostic purposes.
