Abstract

Kata Kunci : Fraksi ejeksi ventrikel kiri, gagal jantung, inflamasi, Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio Background: Heart failure is a global health problem with high morbidity and mortality. Systemic inflammation plays an important role in the pathophysiology of heart failure and may contribute to left ventricular dysfunction. Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) is a simple hematological parameter reflecting inflammatory status; however, studies specifically examining its association with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) remain limited. Methods: This analytic observational study used a cross-sectional design. A total of 77 hospitalized heart failure patients at RSUD Dr. H. Abdoel Moeloek in 2024 were included. PLR was obtained from complete blood count results, while LVEF was assessed using echocardiography. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze the association between PLR and LVEF. Results: The analysis showed no significant association between PLR and LVEF (p = 0.158). The mean PLR was 177.45 ± 149.06, and the mean LVEF was 29.35 ± 5.71%. The relatively homogeneous distribution of LVEF indicated limited variability in systolic function. Conclusion: PLR was not significantly associated with LVEF in heart failure patients. PLR appears to reflect systemic inflammation rather than the degree of left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
