Strategic screening of forages from International gene banks for low enteric methane emission
Abstract
CGIAR genebanks hold vast forage diversity that can be explored to identify low-methane forages with the potential to lower enteric CH₄ emissions while maintaining or improving animal productivity. CGIAR centers are screening ~10% of 71,000 forage accessions to identify low-methane forages and highly digestible candidates using an in vitro screening framework.
