Abstract

This project's preregistration outlines two complementary systematic reviews grounded in a systematic search strategy. The first will be a systematic scoping review aiming to map and describe the global body of empirical literature that employs intersectionality as a theoretical framework within teacher education. Its purpose is to provide an overview of how intersectionality has been conceptualized and integrated across diverse contexts worldwide. The second review will focus on a subset of studies identified in the scoping review, as a critical analysis of Scandinavian empirical research on intersectionality in teacher education. This review will particularly focus to instances of misappropriation or problematic applications of intersectionality, offering a nuanced critique of how the concept is utilized within this regional context.
