Abstract

This research focuses on evaluating the quality and performance of the Goodreads web application through a comprehensive black-box testing approach. The testing methodology combines three primary approaches: manual testing for functional verification, automated testing using Selenium to enhance execution efficiency, and performance testing using JMeter to assess system reliability under specific loads. The primary aim of this study is to ensure that the application's functionality and performance aspects meet user requirement standards. Testing results indicate that all functional modules tested manually successfully met the passing criteria with a 100% success rate. The implementation of automation scripts with Selenium consistently validated repetitive features, while JMeter testing successfully identified system performance thresholds during simulated user loads. These findings provide a deep insight into the technical quality of the Goodreads platform and offer concrete recommendations for enhancing future reliability and user experience.
