Kigali Smart Routing: A Context-Aware Traffic Intelligence System for a Growing African City
Abstract
This project presents a smart routing system developed for Kigali that uses real-time traffic reports and weather data to support safer and more efficient travel. The system allows users to search locations, compare alternative routes, and view traffic conditions such as light, medium, heavy, or blocked roads. The application was designed for real-world use, with a focus on data usability, and system reliability. Future work considers how automated or AI-based features could be evaluated to further support route guidance.
