The association of neonatal 25 hydroxyvitamin D and vitamin D-binding protein levels with subsequent asthma
Abstract
In this cohort study, we will examine the associations of neonatal 25OHD and DBP levels with the subsequent risk of developing asthma. We hypothesize that low 25OHD and DBP levels independently and jointly contribute to an elevated risk of developing asthma later in life. Furthermore, we will examine potential gene-environment interplay that include both the influence of 25OHD and DBP and polygenic risk scores of asthma and individual candidate genes.
