Pre-Sleep Smartphone Use and Sleep in Young Adults: A Biopsychosocial Systematic Review (2015–2025) with a Pre-Specified Dating App Subgroup
Abstract
This project hosts a preprint of a systematic review conducted as part of the MSc Clinical Psychology programme at the Academic Institute for Higher Education (AIHE), validated by London Metropolitan University. The review examines associations between pre-sleep smartphone use (0–120 minutes before attempted sleep, including in-bed use) and sleep outcomes in young adults (18–30 years), using PRISMA 2020 reporting standards, SWiM narrative synthesis, and GRADE certainty appraisal within a biopsychosocial framework.
