AI Adoption in Indian Social Sector Programs: Early Insights, Emerging Stakeholders and Future Directions

This report presents early insights into how artificial intelligence (AI) is being adopted and integrated into India's social sector, particularly by non-profit organisations (NPOs). Based on in-depth qualitative interviews with 29 stakeholders including NPOs, funders, Tech Enablers, and researchers, the study explores the motivations, models, risks, and realities of AI development and deployment in the social impact work or social sector in India.
