Abstract

The global shrimp aquaculture industry represents a critical source of animal protein while simultaneously facing complex biological challenges that threaten its sustainability. This article describes an integrated approach that goes beyond conventional methods by linking precision microbiological control, management systems based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and feed optimization strategies. Through the implementation of science-based preventive controls and structured biosecurity, the objective is not only to reduce the incidence of pathogens such as Vibrio spp., but also to improve productive performance and ensure compliance with the most demanding international food safety standards, such as the FSMA, BAP, and ASC.
