Abstract

This study aims to analyze hate speech on social network X in the context of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, considering three key periods of the conflict: from October 7, 2023, to October 28, 2023 (first period); from November 24, 2023, to December 1, 2023 (second period); and from February 28, 2024, to March 6, 2024 (third period). The methodological approaches used in this research are content analysis using Atlas.ti 24 software and social network analysis using Gephi software. A total of 351 tweets were collected using the Easy Web Data Scraper tool. Following extraction, AI was used with the Perplexity tool, which allowed us to obtain a list of duplicate hate words and expressions. The results indicate a significant difference in the quantity and type of hate speech. A percentage decrease in hate messages was observed between the periods of war and the truce.
