Mapping Research on Warm-Up in Athletes: A Scoping Review and Evidence Gap Map
Abstract
This article presents a scoping review protocol that aims to systematically explore and map the existing literature on warm-up practices in athletes, examining their effects on performance, injury prevention, and physiological readiness. It includes a wide range of warm-up methods, such as dynamic stretching, PAP/PAPE strategies, and sport-specific routines, across different sports, age groups, and competitive levels. An Evidence Gap Map (EGM) will highlight research density and identify critical knowledge gaps, guiding future studies and supporting evidence-informed warm-up practices in sport.
