THE ROLE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION IN ITALY: WITH OR DESPITE CATHOLIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION? This article crit examines the role of Catholic religious education (IRC) in Italian state schools in the context of an increasingly multicultural and pluralistic society. The essay considers both the state and canonical perspectives to illustrate how religious education can be a valuable tool for intercultural education.
