Abstract

During pregnancy, there are many mothers who think that physical exercise represents a threat to their health as well as that of their babies. In this sense, there are different studies that determine that a correct training plan provided by a health or sports professional can provide different benefits to the pregnant woman. Thus, the main objective of this bibliographic review article was to: explore the multiple advantages of physical exercise during pregnancy and provide recommendations with programs and routines that the pregnant woman can perform safely and effectively. The results showed different benefits in the mother, of which we can highlight an improvement in physical abilities: strength, cardiovascular resistance, balance and flexibility. Likewise, the program that has the best benefits for pregnant women depending on their age is that of multiactivity, where they work: aerobic exercises, strength exercises, flexibility exercises, relaxation exercises and finally aquatic exercises. Concluding that, it is necessary for health and sports professionals to provide specific, precise and practical advice on physical exercise, entailing a physical activity program according to the mother.
