Abstract

This article seeks to put into perspective the work carried out by the Biblioteca Cuir, a project dedicated to the research, creation, and activation of dissident LGBTQIA+ memories. Its main objective is to counteract historical invisibility and structural violence through artistic practices and unconventional archives. The Biblioteca Cuir is conceived as a living, collaborative organism, where other ways of organizing and safeguarding community stories and objects are tested. Over the past two years, the project has held open assemblies, research residencies, exhibitions, and activations at festivals, consolidating methodologies that prioritize the affective and the experimental. With more than 500 donated and catalogued pieces, its collection is presented as an archive in flight, open to reinterpretation, fiction, and loss, fostering a practice that expands dissident imagination and forms of collective memory.
