Agencia alimentaria multiespecies: La comida en las prácticas artísticas
Abstract
This study explores how contemporary art uses food as a critical and performative medium to address identity, affective, ecological, and posthuman issues. Through theoretical frameworks such as the material, affective, and posthuman turns, it analyzes how artistic practices incorporate food as a cultural, relational, and living agent. Works by artists such as Stanton, Jaarsma, Tiravanija, García, and Meana demonstrate how the act of eating activates relations of power, memory, hospitality, and sympoiesis across species. Food, beyond its nutritional function, becomes a political device that negotiates boundaries between cultures and between the human and the non-human. The study shows that these works generate situated knowledge through transdisciplinary methodologies, ranging from relational banquets to multispecies cultivations that build networks of reciprocity.
